ABOUT
"I like thinking big. I always have. To me it's very simple: if you're going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big"
Rem Koolhaas
My passion for arts began after watching my grandfather spend countless hours drafting designs for his clients, his sleepless days leaning in the drawing board always trying to reach one step beyond perfection. His love for architecture was so big that it reflected on me, and I started reaching for this new passion that we were both amazed by.
I traveled by myself to study English in London, and came back to Brazil even more certain that I wanted to pursue Architecture. I moved to a small apartment in Sao Paulo and enrolled in Architecture and Urban Planning school. I started to discover that architecture is the art that makes us seek, that instigates us to knowing always more, that takes us back to the past and at the same time moves us into the future.
The love for architecture was generous, it introduced me to photography, graphic arts, visual and fine arts, taught me the value of culture, repertoire and references, and the knowledge available outside of the classroom. It intrigued me to open my eyes to the beauty of the city, the nature, to the individualities that make us unique, and to the power of making the world a better place to our people.
After successfully concluding Architecture school in Brazil, I went on a backpacking trip across Europe working in different businesses for 3 months, in which I've learned so much about adapting to new cultures in a fast paced routine, networking with different people in different languages and problem solving quickly when unexpected situation arise. I also realized the amount of things I had yet to learn, which led me to the decision of continuing to pursue new knowledge through a Business perspective. I am a strong believer that, in order to become the best professional in our fields, we must all seek to improve ourselves in various complementary aspects. For those reasons I enrolled in the Master's of Science in Management at the University of Indianapolis.
The dream, amongst other things, is to be able to combine both Architecture and Project Management skills into a job that believes in Architecture as an inclusive and collaborative tool that is capable of building a better and more cohesive environment for our society. In a firm that strives to create customized designs and projects to attend their clients' unique characteristics, and is committed to Architecture in its purest definition: the communication, inspiration and expression of identities and social interactions through forms, textures and colors.
